Snotty n stuffy

Bella is experience her first cold.... and for that matter, the first time she has ever really been sick. I have been told by my mommy friends that we are really lucky to have made it 6 months before she got sick... but it is still heartbreaking to see her feel bad and not be able to do much to help her! Yet through it all, Bella has been such a good girl. Marc and I decided last night that we are truly blessed if this continues to be her temperament when she is sick. I know God never gives you more than you can handle..... which makes me wonder if we were just blessed with an amazingly happy, adjusted baby or God knew we could not handle a 'challenging' child! :)

BFF Paci

Bella has a new BFF.... and we lovingly call her Paci! In the past 5 1/2 months, Paci has not been a big part of Bella's life. She was tolerated every now and then when Bella was extremely tired but only for a few minutes and only when Bella was laying down. The minute she would sit up, Paci was spit out! But one day... out of nowhere... Bella reached for Paci. I popped Paci in her mouth, as requested, and it was instant love..... to the extent that Bella even wanted to bathe with Paci that night! Although Paci has changed the relationship between Bella and my camera (now that I don't get a beautiful smile as often).... I am still very excited for the budding relationship. I may regret their closeness in the future, but for now, I am enjoying a little less fussiness from my angel!

In other Bella news, her hair is getting longer and the control freak in me is raring its ugly head. I really don't like when her hair gets in her eyes and my only solution right now is to give her, what my mother refers to as, a "paintbrush" ponytail. Needless to say, it is not my mom's favorite hair style on Bella. I never wanted to be the mother who was always fussing with their child's hair, clothes, etc and I will still try and fight the urge as much as possible.... but every once in a while I cave in.

Bella doing her new bath time ritual.... demanding to suck on her washcloth which eventually ends up making her choke and sputter!

Notice the hanging drool... No teeth yet but I can't imagine it will be much longer.

She is such a happy little girl.

Thank you to Great Grandmother Nannie for the precious outfit!

I just love her naked in this towel! One of Bella's new favorite games is peek-a-poo. The flower petals come in handy to hide her eyes with.

My new favorite picture!!!
